India turns 80 years free. And on this August 15, there is no better way to celebrate than by honouring the most personal freedom of all.
The freedom to move your body. To breathe deeply. To feel strong, calm, and at home in your own skin.
This special 15-pose Yogalates flow is our Independence Day gift to you. One pose for every August 15. Move through it with pride, gratitude, and joy today.
Freedom Begins in the Body
India’s freedom fighters fought for the right to live fully. So today, we honour that spirit by moving fully.
True freedom is not just political. It is also physical. It is waking up without pain. Moving without fear. Breathing without tension.
Yogalates gives you that freedom. It builds strength, flexibility, and calm together. So your body feels free — not trapped, not stiff, not exhausted.
India’s 80th Independence Day 2026 theme is Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat — youth power for a developed India. And a strong, healthy body is the foundation of everything. So this flow is not just a workout. It is a celebration.
Move through these poses slowly. Breathe deeply through every one. Hold each pose for 5 slow breaths
Pose 1 — Mountain Pose (Tadasana): Stand Tall and Free
Stand with feet together. Arms by your sides. Eyes closed. Take three deep breaths. Feel the ground beneath you. You are rooted. You are free.
Pose 2 — Raised Arms Pose (Urdhva Hastasana): Reach for the Sky
From Mountain Pose, sweep both arms up overhead. Interlace your fingers. Stretch tall. Breathe in deeply and feel your whole body lengthen. Like the tricolour rising high.
Pose 3 — Standing Forward Fold (Uttanasana): Let Go
From raised arms, fold forward slowly. Let your head hang. Bend your knees as much as needed. Take 5 breaths. Release everything that no longer serves you.
Step your right foot forward. Lower your left knee. Lift your chest and arms. Hold for 5 breaths. This is the pose of courage — stepping forward into the unknown. Switch sides.
Pose 5 — Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I): The Freedom Fighter
Step into a strong lunge. Hips forward. Arms raised high. Look up. Hold for 5 breaths. This is strength. This is determination. This is the spirit of every freedom fighter who came before us. Switch sides.
Pose 6 — Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II): Open and Strong
From Warrior I, open your hips and arms wide. Look over your front hand. Hold for 5 breaths. Warrior II is power and openness at once. So it is the perfect symbol of a free nation. Switch sides.
Pose 7 — Reverse Warrior (Viparita Virabhadrasana): Bend But Never Break
From Warrior II, sweep your back arm down and front arm up. Lean back gently. Hold for 5 breaths. Like India — tested, bent, but never broken. Switch sides.
Pose 8 — Triangle Pose (Trikonasana): Balance and Harmony
Step feet wide. Extend one arm down to your shin and the other up to the sky. Hold for 5 breaths. Triangle represents balance — the same balance India seeks between tradition and progress. Switch sides.
Pose 9 — Tree Pose (Vrksasana): Deeply Rooted
Stand on one foot. Place the other foot on your inner calf or thigh. Arms overhead like branches. Hold for 5 breaths. A free nation — like a great tree — stands tall because its roots go deep. Switch sides.
Sit with legs extended. Fold forward over your legs. Hold your shins or feet. Hold for 8 breaths. True freedom also means looking inward. Knowing yourself. Being at peace with who you are.
Lie on your back. Press your feet down. Lift your hips high. Hold for 5 breaths. Lower and repeat 5 times. We build bridges — across differences, across generations, across the past and future.
Pose 12 — Supine Twist (Supta Matsyendrasana): Release and Renew
Lie on your back. Drop both knees to one side. Breathe slowly for 8 breaths. Then switch. Release what holds you back. Make room for what is coming.
Pose 13 — Legs Up the Wall (Viparita Karani): Rest and Restore
Sit close to a wall. Swing your legs up. Close your eyes. Rest here for 3 to 5 minutes. A free nation also knows how to rest and restore. So do you.
Pose 14 — Child's Pose (Balasana): Return to Peace
Kneel and fold forward. Arms extended. Forehead on the mat. Breathe slowly for 8 breaths. In the quiet of Child’s Pose, we remember what we are really celebrating. Not just a date. But a feeling. Peace.
Pose 15 — Savasana (Corpse Pose): Freedom in Stillness
Lie flat. Arms by your sides. Eyes closed. Let your whole body relax completely. Stay here for 5 minutes. Breathe naturally. This is freedom. Completely still. Completely present. Completely free.
